NIGHT DRIVER will feature a visual history of New York City in the 1970s and 80s as seen from the rock hard bench of a night shift yellow cab driver. Entitled Views from a Yellow Cab, Jonathan Herbert created these sketchbooks of watercolor drawings and paintings while simultaneously driving a quarter million miles in a cab from 1980 to 1984.

This is the second license I labored under. The first I received from the NYPD Hack Department in 1970.
